📄 Let's talk Facebook Automation & Rules

Welcome to 2021, iOS14

Just when we thought 2020's unlucky events were over, iOS14 is on its way and it's not expected to be a positive move for ad buyers.

Even though there's still some uncertainty, we heard from the industry in Twitter threads, messages, and in our Facebook group and did everything we could to simply, efficiently, and effectively answer as many questions as we could to help us all get through this update with as few casualties as possible.

In our latest blog post, we answer questions about:

  • Not all tracking is being lost completely

  • Facebook is working on something that’s a way to track via advanced click measurement

  • If a user has opted-out of tracking on iOS14, one highest-prioritized event will still be attributed to that user within the 7-day attribution window

  • There should be no degrading in the quality of audiences built on actions within the platform

  • Before Facebook removes 28-day attribution, we suggest comparing the relationship between 28-day to 7-day attribution

  • We are unsure of what Google is doing, and/or when they may be also moving away from a 28-day attribution window, so it is still unclear whether or when Google Analytics/UTMs will be affected.

...and a ton more. Got your reading glasses? Let's go.

We could not be more excited to release our newest Foxwell Digital course on none other than: T E S T I N G ! ! !

It's a topic that everyone talks about, every account needs, and every client wants, but do any of us really know how to do it, and how to do it properly in the right testing environments?

If you’ve ever wanted to determine what works best in an ad account, whether it’s regarding creative, placements, audiences, bidding, or something else, but not known exactly how to execute the test properly, Tried & True Testing is for you.

Testing can get very complicated, very quickly, so we’ve broken out what testing should aim to accomplish, how to set up the test, what to do during the test, and even how to analyze, report on, and communicate the test’s findings afterwards.

Our brand-new course covers key topics such as:

  • Why testing is important

  • Types of testing

  • Determining testing success and meaningful metrics

  • Statistical significance

  • Post-testing, determining findings, and communication

  • And much more

As always, our courses have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, or your money back.

iOS14: An even MORE recent update (since Tuesday!)

In Facebook's most recent webinar, the company introduced the opportunity of value optimization, so where we currently have a granular look at purchase data, Facebook will now lump this data into up to 4 buckets. In short, depending upon the range of each account's price range of SKUs, a sample breakout for products that range from $5 - $500 it will break out as follows:

Customer who spent:

  • Bucket 1: $5 - $125

  • Bucket 2: $126 - $250

  • Bucket 3: $251 - $375

  • Bucket 4: $376 - $500

This will also use up to 4 of your available prioritized events.

In addition to Facebook's information they've put out, we're all about spreading the love and there not being a one-size-fits-all method for learning, and in Facebook ad buying success. Let us know which iOS14 article was most helpful to your learning!

Preparing for iOS14's Impact on Facebook Ads - from Nick Shackelford

We really value the thought and approach Nick takes here to help advertiser understand why this change is coming and while Apple says this is for user transparency, it may be more about their desire to get a share of the advertising revenue that is literally passing through their devices on a daily basis. Great breakdown of the changes as well and a must read for all digital advertisers.

Facebook Advertising & iOS14 – Guidance & Actions for Business Owners & Marketers - from Depesh Mandalia

If Nick’s post was the explanation of “why” Apple is making this move, Deepesh’s guide is the technical explanation as to what is changing and how to prepare for many of those changes. The approach is a look at what FB is sharing and cross referencing it Apple’s own dev and resource documentation to make sense of it all. Also a must read for all digital advertisers.

Any beginners out there?

Our friend Zach Stuck posted the above Twitter thread earlier this week and we thought the responses regarding helpful learning tools for new ad buyers might be helpful to you all and/or your teams!

Zach even put together a website to house all of the responses he got: https://www.scalability.school/

Shoutout to @Zach's Nephew for being the inspiration for all this!
