Six Creative Types to Test in Q3 of 2022

  1. Natively created Reels/TikTok Videos. There are also multiple types of these phone-edited videos: slightly polished, still adhering to brand guidelines, some edits and transitions, but not professional quality and still lifestyle/user-esque created content; VERY unpolished Reels/TikTok videos that are exclusively phone-edited, created in platform using in-platform text, transitions, and/or filters, and showing the product with a hand or otherwise with voiceover (person voice or robot voice) and no faces or testimonials in the video, just showing and explaining.

  2. Static lifestyle/UGC images with text overlay (can be native Instagram Stories or TikTok font style text) calling out the most important parts of the product or brand (think 2-4 words that are impactful)

  3. Side by side graphics showing life before the product and life after (also think other side by side comparisons of go from this to this or showing the problem and solution)

  4. UGC or lifestyle video mashups — videos with clips from multiple creators or different shoots. This adds social proof and proof of concept to viewers in that multiple people like the product and use it differently. The more types of people and different shots there are in the video, the more a viewer is likely to “see” themselves in the video and have it relate to their life and their needs.

  5. Short videos with some of the aspects of the above video ideas - think 10-15 seconds or less. Don’t be afraid to try a 7 second video against a 14-second video. Don’t forget adding text overlays for key points made.

  6. Seasonal, relevant, and entertaining content. Customers are on social media to be entertained and to discover new products, people, creators, and ideas now more than ever. Make your content relevant to your customers and their life right now. Are they buying winter clothes in summer? Probably not. But are they wanting to travel, enjoying time outside, spending time with family and friends for the first time post-pandemic? What else do they care about RIGHT NOW? Tap into that.
