Customer Lifecycle Strategy: Coming to Meta Ads in 2026
Why It Matters
Meta Platforms is rolling out a feature that allows businesses to manage targeting for new and existing customers directly, rather than depending solely on the algorithm.
Focus on acquiring genuinely new customers.
Reduce wasted spend on existing users
Get cleaner data and stronger optimization signals
The main takeaway is this: having greater control, along with improved signals, leads to more efficient growth.
In early Q2 2026, some advertisers in the Foxwell Founders Membership gained early access to a new Meta Ads feature called Customer Lifecycle Strategy. This new feature basically gives advertisers the ability to pick to acquire new customers or to reach new and existing customers.
When advertisers select "Acquire new customers," they will get to pick whether to reach engaged customers who have not purchased from the brand yet or non-engaged, non-brand-aware customers as well.
As of mid-April 2026, a Meta rep confirmed that this feature is in a closed Beta test with only select advertisers having been given access. Meta confirmed that Customer Lifecycle Strategy tests a brand's ability to explicitly express a new customer acquisition goal at the ad set level. When you select "Acquire new customers," Meta applies specialized treatments to enhance exclusion accuracy and maximize your reach to net-new customers.
There is not yet a date for further or full rollout of Customer Lifecycle Strategy at this time. Foxwell Digital will update this blog as more information becomes available.
